There are a number of 3rd-party applications that you can use in conjunction with Live365. BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool) is free to use and has Icecast capabilities, making it compatible with Live365. BUTT is a great tool for broadcasting live voice and live interviews on your Live365 stream. BUTT can be configured on Mac, Windows, and Linux. 

First, make sure you are editing the station where you want to make these changes. Highlight and click the station name to select it. If you are unfamiliar with how to navigate this part of Live365, please see this help article which describes dashboard navigation. 

Once you have selected the appropriate station, you will be taken to that Station's Menu page. From this page, you will be able to navigate and make changes and adjustments to your station.  

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to configure BUTT to work with Live365:

Step 1) Download and install a free copy of BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool)

Step 2) Open your Live365 Broadcaster. (Login Required)

Step 3) Select "Sources -> Live DJ" from the left column Station Menu. Locate the "Encoder Settings" area as shown below:

Please leave the "Encoder Settings" window open as you will need to input this information into the BUTT interface. For accuracy, it is recommended that you Copy (ctrl c) and Paste (ctrl p) this information directly into the required fields.

Step 4) Open your copy of BUTT. In the main encoder window, click the “Settings” button.

Step 5) In the Settings window, under “Server Settings,” click the "Add” button.

Step 6) Fill in the information that was provided in the Live365 "Encoder Settings" window.

Name = We suggest naming it Live365, but you can add any name you wish.

Address = Live365 HostName, as provided in the "Encoder Settings" window. 

Type = IceCast

Port = 8000

Password = The Live365 Password, as provided in the "Encoder Settings" window. 

IceCast mountpoint = Live365 mountpoint, as provided in the "Encoder Settings" window.

IceCast User = source

Once you have entered the details from the Live365 "Encoder Settings" window, click the “ADD” button at the bottom of the window.

Step 7) Press the “Save” button at the bottom of the BUTT settings window.

Step 8) In the BUTT interface, click the play button to begin your Live Broadcast.

As soon as you click the play button, you will begin broadcasting live.

NOTE: If you are using Winamp in conjunction with BUTT and if you are part of the Ad Revenue Share Program plan, you will need to go into the Winamp Options -> Preferences, then look for Titles (under General Preferences) and uncheck "Show underscores in titles as spaces."  

Please remember that even when you are broadcasting live, your files must transmit the correct metadata for copyrighted content (Artist - Title). If you are part of the Ad Revenue Share Program, you need to also manually insert our ad trigger files.
