The custom mobile apps provide your listeners with a direct way to tune in to your station with just one tap. It’s an exclusive experience, putting your station right in their hands. The customizable design elements and app features help to deliver a fully immersive station experience to your listeners and continue driving that listener loyalty.

Our single-station mobile apps are currently included as part of our Non-Copyright 4, Broadcast 3, Broadcast 4, and Broadcast 5 packages, and available as an add-on to all other packages. See our pricing guide for more details.

To get your single-station mobile apps, you first need to complete the required setup steps outlined in the help article below:

We provide the ability to customize your app across three main areas: Branding, Content, and Settings. Once your mobile app is built and deployed, you can then access these customization options through the Live365 Dashboard. You can find this interface by clicking on the Mobile app page of the Station Menu.

Note: The changes applied will appear after relaunching the app. In order for this feature to work correctly, please ensure you are using the latest version of the app available in the stores.

The Mobile app screen has 3 tabs across the top which organize the customization options. Let’s explore each tab and the options available to you.

Branding

In the Branding tab, you can adjust the app's visual elements, such as the theme, text colors, and font style, to create an immersive experience that aligns with your station’s brand.

  1. Theme colors - Choose between two base-level color schemes for the app. Light provides a color scheme with a white background whereas Dark provides a color scheme with a black background.
  2. Button & Text colors - Click on the color sample to launch a palette picker interface where you can set your specific brand colors.
  3. Font style - Choose between several font options to best align with your brand’s identity. A dropdown menu enables you to select a font for all app text with a preview box to review your selection.

Contents

Choose the features available to your listeners to develop your desired app experience. These options and features all affect the functionality and appearance of the app.

  1. Info screen - Determines the availability of the station information screen.
  2. Info screen - Contact email - Controls the availability of the e-mail address information.
  3. Info screen - Social links - Controls the availability of the social media buttons.
  4. Chromecast integration - Allows listeners to send your Live365 stream to Chromecast devices.
  5. Sleep timer - Provides listeners with the ability to automatically stop playback after a specified duration.
  6. Song purchase - Enables in-app song purchases directly from Apple Music.
  7. Favorite songs and page - Allows listeners to mark songs as favorites, and access their “favorites” page.
  8. Last played pop-up - Enables listeners to see a pop-up displaying the last played song.
  9. Album artwork - Determines whether album artwork is displayed to listeners.
  10. Customized share URL - Sets a custom share URL for sharing the app.

Note: As you toggle each option, the app preview updates to show the visual changes related to each feature.

Settings

Control your app’s default settings and decide whether they are adjustable by listeners.

  1. Autoplay stream - These two toggles control whether the stream starts playing automatically when the station app launches as well as if autoplay is customizable by listeners.
  2. Scrolling song text - When track metadata overflows beyond the screen, the app can automatically scroll the text across for full readability. These two toggles control whether that’s automatically on by default or customizable by listeners.
  3. Default startup theme- Allows you to select the overall theme for the app interface upon launch. The options include:
    1. Auto - The app automatically switches between light and dark themes based on the listener’s system settings.
    2. Light - Sets the app to use a light theme.
    3. Dark - Sets the app to use a dark theme.
  4. Dark mode - Depending on your brand’s styling, you may wish to restrict your app from running in dark. Setting this toggle to disabled prevents listeners from ever choosing to run your app in dark mode.
  5. Use system theme - Depending on your branding, you may choose to allow listeners to enable their system’s theme settings (e.g. light or dark mode) to better fit their specific preferences. Allows the app to follow the system's theme settings (e.g., light or dark mode).

When you are satisfied with the settings and preview, click the Save button to apply the changes. Your changes made here will soon be available on every listener’s device, showing up the next time they relaunch your app.

Alternatively, we’ve provided a Discard button and a Reset button. Clicking Discard will revert any changes you have made and roll back to your last “save point.” Reset, on the other hand, toggles every setting and field back to Live365’s default visuals and features for all apps.
