Barix Instreamer is a hardware encoding device designed to encode your internet radio station

Note: This article describes how to configure Barix to connect to Live365. You must also ensure that metadata is coming through to your Live365 Dashboard in order for your station to be in compliance. Without transmitting the artist name and song title for each song that you play out through Barix, we're unable to provide licensing coverage or royalty reporting for your station.
Please make sure you are sending metadata to us once you've completed these steps.

Here are step-by-step instructions of how to connect Barix to your Live365 station:

Step 1)  Open the Live365 Dashboard here. (Login Required)

Step 2) Select Sources -> Live DJ from the left column Station Menu. Locate the "Encoder Settings" area as shown below:

Please leave the "Encoder Settings" window open as you will need to input this information into the Barix web interface. For accuracy, it is recommended that you Copy (ctrl c) and Paste (ctrl v) this information directly into the required fields. Additionally, you can use the small clipboard icons next to each item to copy the information.

Step 3) Make sure that Barix will use MP3 encoding, a constant bitrate of 128kbps, and 44.1 kHz output.

Step 4) When you click on the “Streaming”, a new window will appear in which you can input your LiveDJ , exactly as they appear in Live365. Enter the Live365 station name, mount, genre, domain name and set the Server Type to Icecast.

Step 5) Access "Security" and add the Icecast password.

Once you’re done making all these changes you can press “Apply” which will save the changes and restart the Instreamer.

Please remember that even when you are broadcasting live, your files must transmit the correct metadata for copyrighted content (Artist - Title). If you are part of the Ad Revenue Share Program, you need to also manually insert our ad trigger files.
