RadioDJ is just one of many 3rd-party Automation/Playout software programs that you can use in conjunction with Live365. With RadioDJ, you can broadcast live to your Live365 stream. RadioDJ offers a free trial, but if you intend to continue using it, you will need to purchase a copy.
NOTE: The Altacast plugin for RadioDJ must be installed separately. If you do not have the Altacast plugin for RadioDJ installed, you must first install it before proceeding. Information on how to download and install the Altacast plugin can be found here.
First, make sure you are editing the station where you want to make these changes. Highlight and click the station name to select it. If you are unfamiliar with how to navigate this part of Live365, please see this help article which describes dashboard navigation.
Once you have selected the appropriate station, you will be taken to that Station's Menu page. From this page, you will be able to navigate and make changes and adjustments to your station.
Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to setup RadioDJ with Live365:
Step 1) Download a copy of RadioDJ.
Step 2) Open your Live365 Broadcaster dashboard. (Login Required)
Step 3) Select Sources -> Live DJ from the left column Station Menu. Locate the "Encoder Settings" area as shown below:
Please leave the "Encoder Settings" window open as you will need to input this information into the RadioDJ interface. For accuracy, it is recommended that you Copy (ctrl c) and Paste (ctrl p) this information directly into the required fields.
Step 4) In RadioDJ, ensure the Altacast tab is selected, and press the “+” button at the bottom to add a new encoder.
Step 5) Enter the encoder information to match what was provided in the Live365 “Encoder Settings” window (Step 3), and press “Save Stream” at the bottom of the window.
Server IP address = HostName (as listed in the Live365 "Encoder Settings" window)
Port = 8000
Username = source
Password = Password (as listed in the Live365 "Encoder Settings" window)
Mount point = Mount as listed in the "Encoder Settings" window, preceded by forward slash “/”
Then click the “Finish” button.
Step 6) The encoder should connect automatically and begin broadcasting.
When you enable the live broadcasting, you will immediately start to broadcast live. You will override any scheduled Events and AutoDJ currently playing in the Live365 Broadcaster. Live365 Broadcaster may be used as a fallback, in the event your RadioDJ application crashes or goes offline.
Please remember that even when you are broadcasting live, your files must transmit the correct metadata for copyrighted content (Artist - Title). If you are part of the Ad Revenue Share Program, you need to also manually insert our ad trigger files.
