There are several audio streaming protocols that are used for encoding and streaming your live playlists to the internet. Live365 uses the Icecast2 protocol.
Live365 uses a proprietary streaming server based on "Icecast2." Streams are delivered in ICY and HLS, via secure and non-secure streaming URLs. This means that your encoder and/or automation application "must be" Icecast/Icecast2 compatible. Some encoders do allow for both SHOUTcast and Icecast by using multiple "slots." We suggest that you make Live365 an Icecast slot in the 1st position.
