Why choose a “With Ads” package?

In addition to ad insertion packages being less expensive to begin with, your station will also be included in the Advertising Revenue Share Program. By including programmatic advertising on your station, you can help further reduce the monthly cost of your Live365 services package. According to the details of the Advertising Revenue Share program outlined in the Terms of Service, Live365 will share 50% of Net Advertising Receipts with you. In other words, of whatever we gained from monthly ad revenue, we give back 50% to our broadcasters, depending on the proportional amount of the impressions that are aired on each broadcasters’ stations.

How much can I earn?

A Broadcaster’s Revenue Share is calculated each calendar month according to the following formula:

  • Number of Advertising Impressions delivered in Broadcaster’s station divided by one thousand (1,000) multiplied by the corresponding Net eCPM (effective Cost Per Thousand) and then split by fifty percent (50%)
    • In other words: Ad Impressions/1,000 * Net eCPM * 50%

Here is an example: If in a particular month, a broadcaster delivered 10,000 advertising impressions with a Net eCPM of $2.00, the broadcaster’s revenue share would be $10.00 (10,000/1,000 * $2 * 50%). Each station's revenue share will be calculated 90-120 days following the end of the corresponding month, and are automatically applied to the account in the form of an account credit.

The total amount that Live365 receives is based on how many ads were heard across the entire Live365 network and the eCPM rate in that given month. It is good to keep in mind that both the number of ads played on our network and the eCPM rate vary based on market demands and other factors. These factors, combined with how many impressions your station has, are how we calculate your ad revenue owed to you.

What other things should I know about the Advertising Revenue Share Program?

Earned ad revenue is automatically applied to your account in the form of an account credit. The credits will be applied anywhere between 90-120 days following the end of the corresponding month.

Your receipt of credits is also contingent on adherence to the required minimum of 4 minutes of advertising per hour of programming with a maximum of two (2) minutes allowed per ad break. Be sure there is a separation of at least 15 minutes in-between each 1-minute ad break, or 7.5 to 8 minutes between each 30-second ad break.

NOTE: An ad break is defined as an event triggered in order to allow Live365 to insert digital audio ads on the stream. This must be upheld even if you are using automation software like StationPlaylist, Mixxx, BUTT, PlayIt Live, etc.

See LiveDJ Ad Triggers for more information on inserting ads in your stream

Net eCPM Explanation:

What is the Net eCPM? A CPM (cost per mille or “thousand”) in the advertising industry is the amount that an advertiser pays for every 1,000 listeners that their ad is delivered to (called “impressions”). This rate is determined through a bidding process between advertisers for each listener. One advertiser may pay $3.00 CPM and another may pay $2.50 CPM. At the end of the month, Live365 calculates the total of payments received from all advertisers and divides it by the total “impressions” or number of ads delivered to listeners. The result is our Net eCPM for the month, which we then use in our revenue share formula above to split revenue with our broadcasters. This amount will fluctuate month to month based on the type and quantity of advertisers, as well as factors such as seasonality and overall economic conditions.
