Live365 is proud to partner with iHeartMedia, providing select broadcasters the opportunity to be listed on the iHeartRadio platform. This distribution is available to our Broadcast 4, Broadcast 5, and Non-Copyright 4 packages as well as any college radio station regardless of package.
The Approval Process & Requirements
Distribution on iHeartRadio (U.S. only) is subject to iHeart’s direct approval. Because they now operate on a limited-capacity model, all stations are reviewed based on specific criteria:
- Terrestrial Station Requirement: iHeartRadio distribution is currently limited to terrestrial stations that also maintain an online stream. In general, non-college internet-only stations are not eligible for iHeartRadio distribution through Live365.
- College Station Exception: The terrestrial station requirement does not apply to college stations. Internet-only college stations may still be submitted for iHeartRadio review, but approval is not guaranteed.
- Defensible Branding: iHeart prioritizes unique, digital-first brands. Station names should be clean and avoid terrestrial suffixes like -FM, -AM, or -DB unless you can provide official FCC documentation for those call signs.
- Performance Metrics: iHeart favors stations that demonstrate healthy, organic listener engagement and active promotion of their iHeart listing.
- Seat Availability: Listings are subject to current capacity. If a seat is not immediately available, eligible stations may be placed on a waitlist.
What happens after I subscribe?
Once you have upgraded to an eligible premium package, a Deployment Specialist will contact you. They will guide you through the approval process, gather the required station information, and help you navigate the branding requirements to give your station the best chance of being accepted.
