Having custom art for your Live365 station can help take your station to the next level! Whether you choose to create the logos yourself, or pay to have one created for you, your station logo will help you stand out! This article will give you the basics on station logos, cover art, and sourcing album art for the music you play.

First, make sure you are editing the station where you want to make these changes. Highlight and click the station name to select it. If you are unfamiliar with how to navigate this part of Live365, please see this help article which describes dashboard navigation.

Once you have selected the appropriate station, you will be taken to that station's menu page. From this page, you will be able to navigate and make changes and adjustments to your station.

Your station logo can be updated anytime by selecting Station Settings ➡ Station Profile from the Station Menu.

Station Logo

Your station logo is shown not only in the Live365 station directory, but also on your station profile page, in the Live365 app, and on your custom pop-out player. In many cases, your station logo is the first point-of-contact for your listeners. First impressions are important.

You can use any standard image type (.jpg, .png, etc). It’s also possible to use .gif to have your image be animated.

Clicking on the “Update Station Logo” button will open a window from which you can choose a custom file from your computer. The recommended size for a station logo is a square 300x300 px

Note: Rectangular images will also make your station logo look a bit smaller, or more difficult to read on your station profile page. On the Live365 station directory, it should be noted that rectangular images will not display correctly. It’s possible that some distortion may occur. The rectangular image will look fine on your station profile page, but it will only display the center of the image in the Live365 directory view. Best practices are to always use and scale your Station Logo image as square.

Cover Art

Your custom cover art is displayed as the background image for your Live365 station profile page. You can change your cover art at any time by selecting Station Settings ➡ Station Profile from the Station Menu, then clicking on the “Upload Cover Image” button on the right side of the interface.

The recommended size for custom cover art is 828px wide x 470px tall. The format of the image should be .jpg or .png no larger in size than 2MB.

Album Art

While you can upload custom album art for each of your tracks. This custom album art will only be shown on your station profile page for all the recently played tracks.

Upload album art for each track from Media ➡ Tracks

  1. Click on the track that you would like to update the album art for.
  2. Next, hover with your mouse and click on the current Album Art image to upload a custom album art. You can use any standard image format (.jpg, .png, etc). You can also use .gifs. We recommend a square image of 300x300 px for custom album art.
  3. When you have made your album art selection, click the orange "Save" button to apply the change.

Sourcing album art for each track individually can be very time-consuming. If you have a lot of unsorted tracks, which don’t have the proper album art, we suggest using a program like MusicBrainz Picard prior to uploading your tracks to obtain album art.

You can also have custom album images for your station IDs and talk tracks. This can help brand your station.

Note: The album art for the pop-out player and for the Live365 app are currently automatically sourced from online databases based on the track metadata, and as such are not directly customizable.
