How We Calculated These Averages

As a rule of thumb, 1 MB (Megabyte) of disk space equals roughly 1 minute of music encoded at 128 kbps. This equates to a 50 GB library holding about 50,000 total minutes of audio.

Track counts naturally vary depending on your station's format and genre:

• Shorter Tracks (Punk, Commercial Bumpers): Tracks averaging 1 to 3 minutes will allow you to store significantly more files than the estimated average.
• Longer Tracks (Talk Shows, Ambient, Jazz, Trance): Tracks averaging 12 to 20 minutes take up more space per file, reducing your total track count accordingly.
  
  

⚙️ Technical Encoding Requirements Before uploading, make sure your audio files meet Live365's technical requirements:

• File Formats: .mp3 or .m4a
• Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz
• Bitrate Mode: Constant Bitrate (CBR) (do not use VBR)
