Live365 provides a full suite of analytics to help you understand the reach of your stream and to analyze your listenership. You can view real-time listener statistics or those from previous timespans. Some of the listener statistics available include the number of listeners, geographic distribution, and the platforms and devices used to access your stream.

Tip: You may have access to 1 or more Live365 stations. See our Dashboard Navigation article to learn more about selecting the station which you want to work with. Once on that Station's Overview page, you can then follow along.
You can find the Analytics interface through the main station menu on the left side of any screen. Click on the Analytics menu item to open it.
Streaming metrics and terms
TLH (Total Listening Hours) | Total number of hours a stream has been listened to. (Based on Active Sessions) |
Active Sessions | Number of sessions of 60 seconds or greater within the reported period. |
Session Starts | Number of Active Sessions plus the number of sessions of less than 60 seconds. |
Unique listeners (Reach) | Number of unique Active Sessions (defined as the number of different IP addresses and User Agents) that connected to a stream within the reported period. |
ATSL (Average Time Spent Listening) | Average time a session has been listening to the station (Based on Active Sessions) |
Bounce Rate | Percentage of sessions which have been connected for less than 1 minute. In other words, the number of listeners who left after initially tuning in. |
Session Peak | The maximum number of active sessions recorded at the same time for a station. |
AASD (Average Active Sessions Per Day) | Active Sessions divided by number of days in the reporting period |
AQH (Average Quarter Hour) | The average number of listeners recorded every fifteen minutes |
The Live365 analytics capabilities are organized into tiers - Basic, Advanced, and Pro. These tiers are available according to the Broadcast package you are subscribed to.
Note: To make it easier to identify which analytics features are available on each package, icons denoting the corresponding package are placed next to the respective feature set. The icons are BC1+, BC2+, and BC3+, representing the Broadcast packages they are available on. For example, BC2+ indicates that the feature set is available for Broadcast 2 packages and higher, including Broadcast 3, 4, and 5.
Note: All the Non-Copyright packages receive the Basic tier of analytics capabilities.
Realtime Analytics
Realtime analytics refers to the ability to monitor and track listener activity, engagement, and other key metrics as they are happening presently.
There are several different metrics that you are able to report on in realtime.
Realtime Listeners Map
The Realtime Listeners Map provides a visual representation of your audience's geographical distribution. Monitor where your listeners are tuning in from in realtime, allowing you to target specific regions, understand your global reach, or send personalized shoutouts to your listeners during live shows.
Map Legend Red pin - There is one listener connected from the area. Blue circle - There are between 2 and 9 listeners connected from the area. Yellow circle - There are 10 listeners or more connected from the area.
You can switch to a table view enriched with additional information about your station's current listeners by pressing the button in the top right corner of the map:
The information included for each of the listeners is:
- Location - Country, State, City
- IP GUID
- Platform
- Device
- Session Length
You can export the real-time statistics to a CSV file with just one click and use a variety of data analysis tools in order to generate useful reports.
Realtime by region
Similar to the Realtime Listeners Map, this allows you to access realtime listener data grouped by geographic region in a table format. To access the full information, click the See all button next to the Listeners by country pane.
The country name, number of Active Sessions, Session Starts, and % of the total aggregated TLH from that country will be displayed.
Note: Depending on how many entries there are, your data might appear on multiple pages. At the bottom of the pane, you will see a page number indicator. Use the forward and back arrows to navigate between pages.
Realtime by platform
Displays the individual platforms (software, browser, player) currently connected to your stream.
To access the full information, click the See all button next to the Listeners by platform pane.
This will display the Platform used to listen, amount of Active Sessions and Session Starts, and the percentage of listeners using the specific platform compared to the total overall listeners.
Realtime by device
Displays the individual types of devices currently connected to your stream.
To access the full information, click the See all button next to the Listeners by device pane.
This will take you to a new page that indicates Devices used to listen, amount of Active Sessions and Session Starts, and the percentage of listeners using a specific device compared to the total overall listeners.
Historical Analytics
Historical analytics allow you to review and analyze data collected from your Live365 stream’s performance and audience trends over time.
When you open the Historical Analytics page, you are greeted with your station's Active Sessions, Session Starts, and Total Listening Hours prominently displayed.
You also have the option to view Analytics chronologically, as indicated in the image below. These are generally updated every hour.
To access all of the options, click on the default entry "Today" which opens a drop-down menu of additional options including Custom dates, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This Month, and Last Month. You can also click on the calendar icons to manually adjust the date range of the reported data.
Historical Listeners Graph
The Historical Listeners Graph is a visual representation of the number of listeners your Live365 stream has had over a specific period of time.
This graphic plots the number of listeners on the y-axis (vertical axis) and the corresponding time period on the x-axis (horizontal axis). The displayed time intervals vary depending on the granularity you choose, such as daily, weekly, monthly, or custom period.
Historical by region
This section allows you to access past listener data segmented by region in a table format. To access the full information, click the See all button next to the Listeners by country pane.
You will see the country name, number of Active Sessions, Session Starts, and % of the total aggregated TLH from that country.
Historical by platform
Displays the individual platforms (software, browser, player) that were connected to your stream within the selected period of time.
To access the full information, click the See all button next to the Listeners by platform pane.
This indicates the Platform used, amount of Active Sessions and Session Starts, and the percentage of listeners using the specific platform compared to the total overall listeners.
Historical by device
Displays the individual types of devices that were connected to your station within the selected time period.
To access the full information, click the See all button next to the Listeners by device pane.
This will take you to a new page that indicates the Device used, amount of Active Sessions and Session Starts, and the percentage of listeners using the specific device as compared to the total overall listeners.
Historical Dayparts Filter
Historical dayparts filter can be used to analyze listener data based on specified windows of times. This will help you identify peak listening periods and fine-tune your programming schedule to maximize listenership during high-demand hours.
You can create your preferred dayparts manually by clicking on the Dayparts dropdown menu near the top of the Historical Analytics page, then selecting Add daypart…
You may now select the desired time period and days of the week and click Save to add your daypart to the list. The view will switch automatically to the recently created daypart.
Historical Data by Time
The Historical Data by Time section offers you the ability to group your historical data based on different time intervals such as Hourly, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly. Select the interval, and you’ll be presented with a report reflecting the selection
Exporting Analytics Data
All Analytics tiers provide the ability to export analytics data to CSV format. To generate and download a CSV report, click on Download CSV.
Exporting capability is available for the following sections of the Analytics interface:
- Real-time by region
- Real-time by device
- Real-time by platform
- Historical by region
- Historical by device
- Historical by platform
Discrepancies between Realtime and Historical Statistics
You may notice that certain stats change, or may not exactly match when comparing Realtime and Historical side by side, and wonder why that is. We have several systems in place to minimize bot traffic. Our systems also conduct filtering and clean-up of the Historical stats after they have been passed over from the Realtime display.
Historical stats are always going to be the best indicator for overall stream performance, and we advise only considering them as "final" stats after 24 hours have passed.
Advertising Analytics
On this page, you can access comprehensive insights into your advertising performance. The Analytics section provides you with valuable information about the total impressions generated by your ads and presents the data in a visually engaging impressions graph.
To access all of the options, click on the default entry "Today" at the top of the page which will open a drop-down menu of additional options. You can also click on the calendar icons to manually adjust the date range of the reported data.
The impressions graph visualizes the number of impressions along the y-axis, while the x-axis represents the corresponding time interval. By examining this graph, you can easily track and analyze the trends and fluctuations in impressions over time, gaining a clear understanding of your advertising reach and effectiveness.
