The Live365 Dashboard (our web-based platform) is currently compatible with the streaming of either MP3 or M4A files. These are the only file types that you may upload to your Live365 media library. Other types of files should not be uploaded.

If you would like to use other formats (OGG, .wma, .flac, etc.), you can either convert them into .MP3s, or use automation/playout software with Live365 to broadcast live.

The .MP3 files must be encoded at a Constant Bit Rate (CBR), maximum bit rate of 128 kbps, and with a maximum sample rate of 44.1 kHz while the .M4A files must be encoded at a maximum of 128 kbps bit rate and 44.1 kHz sample rate.

Live365 is compatible with many 3rd party live DJ and automation programs. If you are using 3rd party software, you may be able to stream different file types by using our LiveDJ feature and connecting an Icecast2 stream directly to Live365. The file types will depend on which 3rd party software you are using.
