Overview of Rate Adjustments
Our package pricing has remained flat for nearly a decade. During this time, the costs associated with operating a streaming network have increased across the board:
- Licensing & Statutory Royalties: Copyright Royalty Board statutory rates per performance have risen nearly 59% since 2017. Over this period, Live365 has absorbed these increases while adding 8 new blanket licensing agreements to cover broader rights and territories.
- Network Infrastructure: Maintaining continuous 24/7 stream availability across mobile apps, smart speakers, and partner networks (TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Audacy) requires ongoing server, cloud, and bandwidth expansion.
- Platform Development: Reinvestment into internal Engineering, Product Development, and Customer Support teams to maintain platform stability and rollout new features.

How to Lock in Current Rates via Annual Billing:
Broadcasters can lock in legacy monthly rates for 12 months by switching to an annual plan prior to August 31, 2026.
Switching to annual billing:
- Rate Protection: Freezes legacy rates for a full 12-month billing cycle.

- Click Billing in the left navigation menu, then select Change package.
- Set the billing frequency toggle to Yearly for your current tier and confirm the update.
FAQ
Billing & Price Adjustment Questions
Q: Why are package rates changing on September 1?
For nearly 10 years, we’ve kept our core package pricing completely flat. But behind the scenes, the cost of running a broadcast network has gone up across the entire industry since 2017:
- Expanded Licensing Coverage (Broadcast packages only): We’ve continuously expanded our blanket licensing coverage to cover more music rights and broader listener reach – all while absorbing Copyright Royalty Board statutory rate hikes that have increased nearly 59% since 2017.
- Platform Upgrades: We’ve continuously improved our station management features and Dashboard tools to make setting up live streams, syndicated broadcasts, and event calendars faster and more reliable.
- Technology & Servers: Keeping your stream live 24/7 across mobile apps, smart speakers, and partner networks requires continuous cloud and server upgrades.
- Team Growth:We’ve grown our dedicated internal teams – including Development, Engineering, and Customer Support – so you get faster feature rollouts and real human help when you need it.
To keep providing top-tier platform performance, stream reliability, and dedicated support, package prices will update on your first renewal date on or after September 1.
Q: What is the difference between "With Ads" and "Ad Control" plans?
The main difference comes down to base pricing and ad flexibility:
- With Ads Plans: Nothing has changed for this plan type. These packages offer lower base subscription rates because station owners agree to run 4 minutes of Live365 network ads per hour.
- Ad Control Plans (formerly "No Ads"): These packages stay ad-free by default, but now give you total flexibility. Starting on your renewal date on or after September 1, you unlock a Dashboard Ad Toggle – allowing you to turn Live365 network ads ON or OFF whenever you choose so you can monetize special broadcasts on your own terms.
Q: How can I keep my current rate and prevent a price increase?
You can freeze your current monthly rate for 12 full months by switching your station to an annual plan before August 31.
When you switch to an annual plan before August 31, you:
- Lock in your lower legacy rate for the next 12 months.
- Get 2 months free (you pay for 10 months and get 12 months of service).
- Keep your current setup with zero interruptions to your stream delivery, licensing, or monetization under your existing legacy package limits and overage terms.
Q: If I switch to an annual plan to lock in my rate, do I get the upgraded media storage space, new overage rates, or the Ad Toggle?
No. Upgraded storage limits (50%+ increase), pay-as-you-go overage rates ($0.07/TLH for BC; $0.01/TLH for NC), and the new Dashboard Ad Toggle apply to packages transitioning to updated pricing on their renewal date on or after September 1.
Stations that switch to an annual plan before August 31 to lock in legacy pricing keep their existing storage limits, overage structure, and current package features for the full 12-month annual term.
Q: If I lock in my legacy rate on an annual plan, do I have to pay for the full year upfront?
Yes. Switching from a monthly plan to an annual plan starts a fresh 12-month billing period. The annual amount (which includes your 2-months-free discount) is paid upfront at checkout to lock in your legacy price for the year.
Q: How do I lock in my legacy rate in the Dashboard?
You can update your account in less than a minute:
- Log into your Live365 Dashboard.
- Select the station you want to lock in.
- Click Billing on the left menu, then select “Change package.”
- Switch the billing toggle to “Yearly” for your current package and confirm the changes.
Q: I run multiple stations on Live365. How does this work for my account?
Every station on your account has its own individual plan and renewal date. On or after September 1, each station will move to its updated rate on its specific renewal date.
If you want to lock in legacy rates across multiple stations, you will need to switch each station to an annual plan separately before August 31. You can space these switches out anytime between now and August 31 to manage your card payments.
Q: I’m already on an annual plan. Will my price change on September 1?
No. If you’re already on an annual plan, your rate is locked for the rest of your 12-month cycle. Your price won't change until your regular annual renewal date occurs on or after September 1.
Q: I’m already on an annual plan. What happens when my plan renews after September 1?
If you’re currently on an annual plan, your legacy price remains locked for the rest of your current 12-month term. When your annual renewal date occurs on or after September 1, your subscription will update to the new annual package rate – which automatically unlocks your 50%+ media storage upgrade, updated overage rate, and new Ad Toggle (Ad Control packages only).
Dashboard Ad Toggle Questions (Ad Control Plans Only)
Q: When do I get the Dashboard Ad Toggle on my Ad Control plan?
For Ad Control plans, the Dashboard Ad Toggle unlocks on your first account renewal date on or after September 1.
Q: How does the Dashboard Ad Toggle work once it's active?
Once it unlocks on your renewal date, you have direct control right inside your Dashboard:
- OFF (Default): Your stream stays completely ad-free from Live365 network ads.
- ON: Live365 network ads will play during your scheduled ad breaks so you can earn ad revenue on demand. You can flip it back to OFF whenever you like.
Q: If I turn the Dashboard Ad Toggle "OFF," does it block my own local sponsors or station ads?
No. The Dashboard Ad Toggle only controls automated Live365 network ads. If you upload audio files with your own direct-sold sponsorships, local spots, or custom station promos, those will play normally no matter what the toggle is set to.
Q: Will Live365 start automatically playing ads on my Ad Control station on my renewal date?
No. Ad Control stations stay ad-free by default. The toggle is simply a new tool added to your Dashboard when you renew, giving you the choice to monetize live events or special shows if you want to. If you don't touch it, your station stays ad-free.
Q: How does the Ad Toggle help me?
You now have the flexibility to monetize your station however you want. On Ad Control plans, the Dashboard Ad Toggle gives you total manual control over your stream. You can keep Live365 network ads OFF during a live show, interview, or special programming block to keep your stream 100% uninterrupted, then flip it ON during any automated rotations to earn programmatic ad revenue.
Media Storage & Technical Questions
Q: Will my station experience any downtime or go offline on September 1?
Not at all. There is zero stream downtime. Everything happens behind the scenes on our servers. Your live streams, scheduled relays, track libraries, playlists, clock triggers, and event calendars will stay completely active and uninterrupted throughout the transition.
Q: How do I get my extra media storage space? Do I need to request it?
You don't need to do anything or submit a support ticket. Your expanded media storage limit unlocks automatically on your first renewal date on or after September 1 (when your updated package pricing takes effect).
Our Engineering team updates your storage backend automatically, instantly expanding your capacity from your Legacy Storage to your New Storage without moving a single file or disrupting your station rotations.
Ad Revenue Share Questions
Q: Is the Live365 Ad Revenue Share split changing?
No. The revenue split stays exactly the same. Broadcasters running Live365 network ads earn a 50/50 revenue split on all valid ad impressions delivered on their stream.
Q: If an Ad Control user turns the Ad Toggle "OFF" for a show, does it affect their payout percentage?
It only affects the specific hours ads are turned off. You keep earning your full 50/50 split on every ad served while the toggle is ON. When turned OFF, no network ads are played, so no ad earnings are generated during those hours. There are no penalties, and your baseline 50% revenue split never changes.
