Our system monitors your Total Listener Hour (TLH) usage throughout your monthly billing cycle. To ensure your station remains on the air during high-traffic periods, we provide automated notifications and overage protection.
Allotted TLH by Package
Currently, the allotted TLH for each broadcast package is as follows:
- Broadcast 1: 1,500 hours
- Broadcast 2: 3,500 hours
- Broadcast 3: 7,000 hours
- Broadcast 4: 10,000 hours
- Broadcast 5: 20,000 hours
Standard Usage Notifications
Automated usage alerts apply to your standard package listening (US, Canada, and Mexico). Alerts appear in your Dashboard and arrive via email at two key milestones:
- 70% Usage: Triggered if you reach 70% of your allotment with less than a quarter of your billing cycle remaining.

- 100% Usage: Triggered as soon as you reach 100% of your allotment before your billing cycle ends, confirming that overage protection is active.

NOTE: You can read more about Total Listening Hours here.
NOTE: TLH Usage Notifications only apply to US, Mexico and Canada listening
How Overages Work
Once you exceed your allotted TLH, overage protection automatically kicks in. Your station will remain on the air, and any additional hours used will be billed at a flat rate:
- Broadcast Packages: $0.05 per listener hour.
- Non-Copyright Packages: $0.01 per listener hour.
Overages are calculated at the end of your monthly billing cycle and added as a line item to your next invoice.
Note on Annual Plans: Even if your base subscription is billed annually, overage charges are billed monthly. This keeps your account current and ensures you are notified of usage spikes in real-time.
Standard Overages & Upgrade
If you exceed your standard TLH allowance, your station remains live. Extra hours are calculated at the end of your billing cycle and added as a line item on your next monthly invoice:
- Broadcast Packages: $0.07 per listener hour.
- Non-Copyright Packages: $0.01 per listener hour.
Upgrading your standard package:
- Before exceeding your limit: Upgrading mid-cycle retroactively applies the higher TLH limit to your entire current month.
- After exceeding your limit: Upgrades take effect on your next billing cycle.
Note for Annual Plans: Base package subscriptions can be billed annually, but overages are billed monthly to reflect actual usage.
UK Licensing Add-On TLH & Overages
UK listening is measured separately from the TLH included with your standard Broadcast package. Your UK TLH allowance is determined by your UK Licensing add-on tier and follows the billing cycle of your UK add-on.
| UK Add-on Tier | Monthly Price | Included UK TLH | Overage Rate (per hour) |
| Lite | $17.99 | 150 hours | $0.12 |
| Starter | $29.99 | 500 hours | $0.11 |
| Scale | $169.99 | 1,800 hours | $0.07 |
| Pro | $329.99 | 5,000 hours | $0.06 |
Monitoring UK Usage
Automated notifications do not currently apply to UK listening. UK TLH must be monitored manually in your dashboard:
- Go to Dashboard > Analytics.
- Select Historical.
- Set the date range to match your UK add-on billing period.
- Scroll to Listeners by Country and select See All to view UK usage separately.
UK Billing & Upgrades
- Invoicing: UK overages are calculated at the end of your UK add-on billing period and billed directly on your UK add-on invoice.
- Upgrades: To upgrade or change your UK Licensing Add-on tier, please contact Support at help@live365.com.
Billing Examples
Example 1: The "Mid-Cycle" Overage
A broadcaster on Broadcast 1 (1,500 TLH included) reaches 1,600 TLH by the 25th day of their cycle.
- The station remains live.
- At the start of the next billing cycle, the user receives an invoice for their base plan plus an overage charge for the 100 extra hours (100 x $0.05 = $5.00).
Example 2: High Volume Overage
A broadcaster is on the Broadcast 5 package (20,000 TLH). Due to a successful event, they use 20,251 hours during the month.
- The station remains live.
- The customer will be billed for the excess 251 hours (251 x $0.05 = $12.55) on their next monthly invoice, in addition to their base package price.
