You will be notified if you exceed the total listening hours included in your monthly broadcasting cycle. Please note that per our Terms of Service, these limits and overage fees are in place to cover the licensing costs associated with streaming copyrighted content to your listeners.
Only TLH from licensed territories counts toward your plan’s TLH limit (currently the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the UK). If you’re new to TLH, see: What is TLH (Total Listening Hours)?
Monthly TLH included by plan
Your broadcast package includes a set amount of monthly TLH:
- Broadcast 1: 1,500 TLH
- Broadcast 2: 3,500 TLH
- Broadcast 3: 7,000 TLH
- Broadcast 4: 10,000 TLH
- Broadcast 5: 20,000 TLH
What happens if I exceed my monthly TLH?
If your station’s licensed-territory TLH exceeds your plan’s included TLH, you have two options.
Option 1: Pay overage charges (no upgrade required)
You can simply keep your current plan and pay for any additional licensed-territory TLH you use.
- Overage rate: $0.05 per TLH
- Applies to: all royalty-included Broadcast packages (Broadcast 1–5)
- What counts: Only TLH from licensed territories (US, Canada, Mexico, UK)
Option 2: Upgrade your package
If you expect your station to consistently exceed your included TLH, you may consider upgrading your package. Upgrading increases the amount of TLH included in your monthly plan and provides access to additional features and benefits available with higher tiers.
When are overage charges billed?
TLH resets on the 1st of each month. If you exceed your limit in one month, any overage charges are typically billed in the following month.
Tip: If you exceed your plan’s included TLH in January, you will receive a separate overage invoice in February. This charge will not currently appear on your regular monthly subscription invoice.
Examples
Example 1: Broadcast 1 - overage or upgrade
A station is on Broadcast 1 (1,500 TLH included). By month-end they reach 1,600 TLH (licensed territories).
- Overage: 100 × $0.05 = $5.00.
- They can either pay the $5.00 overage and stay on Broadcast 1, or upgrade if they expect higher usage going forward.
Example 2: Broadcast 5 - overage billing
A station is on Broadcast 5 (20,000 TLH included). At month-end, they have 20,251 TLH (licensed territories).
- Overage: 251 × $0.05 = $12.55, billed in addition to the Broadcast 5 base price.
