The notification DMCA Violation is triggered when a scheduled event is out of compliance with the DMCA regulations.
All licensed, legal internet radio stations must follow the rules of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Otherwise, they are not compliant and subject to fines. The DMCA rules are key to Live365 remaining a leading authority in legal internet radio.
Here are the DMCA rules that our system must follow for AutoDJ, Playlist, and ClockWheel mode:
- No more than 3 songs consecutively from the same artist
- No more than 2 songs consecutively from the same album
- No more than 4 songs from the same artist in a 3-hour period
- No more than 3 songs from the same album in a 3-hour period
These apply to the track list inside of the event you are working with as well as AutoDJ blocks and other events before and after the event you are working with.
We recommend reviewing the ClockWheel or Playlist being used to create the event and make sure the track selection adheres to the regulations above. For ClockWheels, it's recommended to have a wide variety of tracks that are also categorized properly so that the system can choose tracks based on your ClockWheel pattern without breaking the DMCA rules.
